Forensic Age Estimation from Lower Third Molar Maturity Index

Objective: To estimate age from mandibular third molar maturation stages in the patient presenting to Combined Military Hospital, Peshawar Pakistan.
 Study Design: Cross-sectional.
 Place and Duration of Study: Department Dentistry, Pakistan, Jun Jul 2021.
 Methodology: One hundred fifty participants either gender, ages 14 24 years, with good quality orthopantomogram (OPG) showing tooth germs Pakistani nationals were included. Participants hypodontia, oligodontia, Amelogenesisimperfecta, Dentinogenesisimperfecta, history trauma /fracture region any systemic disease excluded. Data like age, gender right molars recorded. 
 Results: The mean was 16.76±2.19 years. In 111(74.9%) cases, variation chronological can be explained by stages. only statistically significant predictor for Demirjian's stage lower (p=0.002,95% CI=3.643-15.442), while not a predictor.
 Conclusion: estimated reliability our population.
